Berkeley Podium Structure

The Berkeley Podium Structure project was limited to the structural concrete portion of a four-story residential building.

A logistical challenge was presented, as two sides of the exterior went right to the back of the sidewalk (requiring the closure of the sidewalk in front of the building). During the course of construction however, we were proud that all lanes remained open, as we used an elevated form of work system for the concrete floor. Shotcrete was used for the vertical walls, which resulted in a strong product and needed a minimum of form work.
