The Torres Community Shelter is a homeless shelter in Chico, California that sleeps up to 120 men, women, and children. We’ve been involved with the Chico Community Shelter Partnership since its inception. This partnership is a thriving, nonprofit organization that’s constantly improving, and is fully dedicated to assisting a wide variety of people in their efforts to achieve self-sufficiency and a more stable life.
When the shelter needed to expand their space, we were asked to bid on the project. When we ultimately won the bid, we provided our pre-construction service and value engineering in order to allow the shelter to maximize their budget.
Renovations included a new 6,000 sq. ft. wood framed wing containing a commercial kitchen, administration offices, intake foyer, and the upgrade of the existing shower and restroom facilities. Additionally, we added a driveway and performed landscaping. During the course of construction, the facility remained open.
